C PAGES was supported by Castlefield Gallery’s New Art Spaces, an initiative to create dynamic project spaces for artists, artist collectives and artists development agencies. Making use of temporary vacant retail, office and light industrial units, NAS provides opportunities for emerging creatives to incubate their practices, produce work and showcase new art to local communities.

Working in collaboration with Castlefield Gallery and Eastside projects we developed a series of creative exchanges and events for their associate artists schemes. These exchanges impacted upon early and mid-career artists’ professional practice and created links between Manchester and Birmingham.

The exchange involved CG Associates and Extra Special People offering members the chance to experiment, explore the kinds of dialogue which arise through creative activity, and make new work and connections.

Extra Special People (ESP) is Eastside Projects’ Associates scheme, supporting the development of work, ideas, connections and careers through a programme of events, opportunities and projects. Members become active contributors to a practice-led peer support network and benefit from Eastside Projects’ experience of the contemporary art world and regional, national and international contacts
